Formula management for cosmetic R&D: versions, raw materials and tests
For formulation and R&D teams that want to structure their daily work and end version chaos.
Formula, cost and stability in one place
Challenges
Formulas exist in dozens of Excel versions — no one knows for sure which one is current.
Raw-material data has to be gathered manually for each formulation.
Stability results are in separate files and not linked to formulations.
The formulation process is not standardized — each team member works differently.
How VYVA helps
Automatic versioning: every change traceable, every version recoverable.
Raw-material data automatically linked — including INCI, cost and regulatory status.
Test results and stability data directly coupled to formulation and batch.
Standardized workflows that structure the formulation process without restricting it.
How it works in VYVA
- 1
Create the formula
Formulas are built from the raw materials in the database, with phases and percentages. INCI, costs and regulatory notices come from the raw-material data and do not have to be added by hand.
- 2
Compare variants
Every change creates a version with author, time and reason. Variants can be placed side by side, and earlier states are kept.
- 3
Manufacture and test
Lab batches are recorded with phases, mixing steps and parameters. Stability and other tests are attached to the formula version and batch instead of living in a separate file.
- 4
Change a raw material
When a raw material is replaced or restricted, you can see which formulas contain it. You rework the affected ones instead of searching through every file.
An everyday example
A day cream needs to become cheaper without changing the skin feel. The formulator creates a new version and replaces an emulsifier with an alternative from the raw-material database. The cost overview shows the difference per kilogram, and the INCI list changes with it. The lab batch is recorded with phases and parameters; the stability and sensory tests are attached to the new version. If the test fails, the previous version remains unchanged and the trial is still documented.
The areas you will use
- Formulation Development & Versioning
- Formulas with phases, percentages, versions and cost overview.
- Raw Material / INCI Database
- Raw materials with INCI, CAS number, suppliers, composition and regulatory status.
- Compounding & Batches
- Lab batches and batches with mixing steps, parameters and deviations.
- Stability & Testing
- Stability, climate stress, microbiology, packaging, in-use and sensory tests as test protocols.
